When we started building self storage projects in 1976, the industry standard was a 30 or 40 foot wide single story building with doors on all sides. These "box" buildings required little or no architectural creativity. Over the past 25 years, the industry has evolved to the point where architectural services are an essential part of almost every project.
Projects are now located in commercial rather than industrial locations and, in some cases, in residential districts. As a result, township ordinances and planning boards have demanded that more "aesthetics" be built into self storage projects. In addition, owners want a project that is attractive to their customers but still fits their budget. The struggle to compromise between the requirements of the planning boards and budget restraints rests with the architectural design of the project.
Miller's architects have over 25 years of self storage experience that has evolved strong with the industry. Our architectural staff will meet with you at the earliest stage of your project, attend planning board meetings, prepare renderings and design any phase of the project that is required.
We are prepared to design multi-story buildings, office space, resident manager apartments, climate controlled buildings, elevators and lifts, block facades, gate systems, landscaping, etc. We will also prepare blueprints and specifications for HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. |
